I too wish i had found this website sooner!
I had a bilateral mesh op on both sides in august 2006.
All was fine until july 2007 when i applied a big force denailing wood and the left side popped out again.
So my specialist (mr Tehrani...Nuffield Hospital Glasgow) performed a second mesh op. From this i suffered numbness to left leg because he had to severve a nerve. NO ONE warned me about this. I also have a little pain on the other side where scar tiisue has formed around the nerve on the spermatic cord, this is getting better but again NO ONE warned me!
I now have a small third recurrence and an area of weakness.
I am being referred by nhs to a surgeon for possible keyhole surgery to put in more mesh!
I AM TOLD THIS IS A DIFFICULT OP AND NEEDS AN EXPERT SURGEON. Apparently there is on in Edinburgh.
it is said there is no urgency but if i want to persue an active lifestyle it needs doing sometime!
What do you think!
Is there a specialist somewhere who would support me in not having anymore surgery?
Is there a way of getting this wonderful website out to GPs!!!!!
Thanks for creating it.
andrew
ps I you have been told you need surgery think twice or even 10 times first!!!!!!!!!!!!
