I have been diagnosed as having a direct inguinal hernia of 2-3cm. Can you tell me if is possible to self heal the direct form, as well as, the direct inguinal hernia. The surgeon I spoke to said that exercises would increase the size of the muscles, but would not remove the tear. I, however, would like to see if self healing maybe possible and plan to put off any surgery for as long as possible.

Almost everyone with a hernia opts for surgery so we don't have any cases or statistics for you. Maybe you will be the first one? Let us know what you decide to do and how you get on.

Best wishes
