But i'm a pilates/yoga teacher with an iguinal hernia.
what a shock?
came from a chain of events
1.injured groin dirt bike riding
2.large bloated belly [after xmas period]
3.Bad cough
4.went to the gym for the first time in years on new years day joined a 1 on 1 kettle bell workshop.
on reflection i feel such a fool.
i did what the man said and now have an iguinal hernia.
GP said it would not fix itself and i would need an operation .
i was so bemuised dismayed
not happy!
my bodies my business!
i'm 45 and enjoy running around with the yougens and doing crazy stuff on dirt bikes.
i've been a self employed shiatsu body worker, yoga/pilates teacher for 17 years
this was a terrible moment for me how ever on reflection i'm now sure this will be positve turning/learning point in my life!?
bring it on

i have all the credentials to fix my self and not have the op.
so lets do it.
i have learnt alot from the site
heres some stuff of my own.
1.
i have fasted and gone back to a simple macrobiotic diet.
this i feel is most important.
2.
taken the week off work
lots of time on my back!
i dont want to spend any time with the hernia hanging out
3.
connect with the suttle pilates principles 24-7.
but only when hernia is not out
4.
will work with and research truss oil and herbs and any thing else that may help |

[quote="admin"]Hi Bhima
but please keep that hernia permanently in, or it will not get the chance to heal properly.
i'm learning that that is easyier said than done! |

Thanks to the truss purchased here i have led a pretty active life and by doing so prepared myself for surgery.
iIs a very long storey however i had key hole surgery on 27 may.
I had a direct inguinal hernia before now i have an indirect inguinal hernia right down to the end of me right testis.
Me very not happy! |

That's a drag! I feel having had the failed surgery may complicate the healing process, but there is hope yet. Have a look at the following page: Recommended yoga exercises for hernia healing
I hope this information will help you to heal yourself and in future to heal others via your teaching. |
